Ephemeral
The photographs in Ephemeral represent the fleeting nature of our world by photographing sculptures made from ice. Shooting the melting ice adds a sense of urgency and spontaneity to an otherwise controlled still life. I’ve crafted the short-lived sculptures by layering colors, embedding plants and by melting and fracturing the frozen forms. Photographing the objects “freezes” the sculpture’s temporary state and makes permanent the beauty, that like most things in nature, changes and disappears with time.
